I decided to go to Salisbury today and buy some taffeta. I found loads and here is the first pair of pantaloons with 3 yards of material. The colour is called fizzy orange but its pink shot with gold giving it an orangey pinky look. They are real long and I can put the "ankle" elastic around my knees This does give them a lovely billowy drape at the bottom though so will test them in class before I decide whether I am going to shorten them or not.
